Mahjaventure: Mahjong Senki is a game that mashes up the Asian tile game of Mahjong with an RPG that that was first released for the NEC PC88-01, before being released on the Famicom by Tokuma Shoten in 1990, albeit in Japan only, so the game never received an official English NES translation.
However, some 36 years after Mahjaventure :Mahjong Senki ’s original Famicom release, it’s now finally possible to play a NES version of the game in English, thanks to a new fan translation, under the Anglicized title of ‘Mahjavnture: Warring Tiles’.
The translation of the game is by SnowyAria and it it is available as both an xdelta path and as a and bps patch, via romhack.ing, who released the patch yesterday (July 27, 2026).
And for those of you who prefer to swerve the use of generative AI: you can rest assured that the description of the Mahjaventure: Mahjong Senki patch states that: “No AI was used in the creation of this patch. Only genuine stupidity.”
Mahjaventure: Mahjong Senki previously received a partial fan translation (covering the game’s first region), back in 2022, but this new fan translation of Mahjaventure: Mahjong Senki is of the full game.
