Classic ARPG The Dark West Blasts A New Demo Out On Steam

We first reported on The Dark West, a new ARPG from developer Black Hand, last month. Since the game’s announcement, a new demo has dropped on Steam following an appearance at several summer gaming events. The demo highlights the game’s early progression by encouraging experimentation with different builds through a mix of gear, cards, and talents.

Set in a land consumed by greed and black magic, The Dark West blends occult western horror with classic isometric action. The demo introduces Kane, the Gunslinger, a fast mid-range class built around revolvers, precision reloads, burst damage, and relentless mobility. His kit allows bullets to chain between enemies, entire cylinders to be emptied in seconds, shadow movement to create sudden repositioning, and spectral echoes to repeat every shot fired.

Key features in The Dark West:

Master Brutal Combat: Gunfire cracks as dark powers surface. Survival demands grit, determination, and one simple rule: kill or be killed.

Build Your Path to Damnation: Power is gained over time through skill choices and hard-earned gear. Your choices between bad and worse decide how far you’re willing to fall. In the end, all that matters is who’s left standing.

Explore a Dying World: The frontier has fallen. Black magic has tainted the land and anything that breathes on it. Those who stay alive learn the cost isn’t paid in coin, but in blood.

Trust Only Your Steel: Two forces rise from the ruins. The Order is armored in self-righteousness but blinded by hypocrisy. The Damned are cursed, exhibiting sin forged in survival. True danger is not what lurks in the dark but who stands behind you when the killing starts.
