Publisher Selecta Play, in partnership with developer Moonlight Games and publisher DANGEN Entertainment, has announced that the highly anticipated physical editions of Hunt the Night are officially available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. Initially revealed alongside the game’s console digital debut earlier this year, these boxed editions are now ready for retail, allowing physical editions and retro-gaming enthusiasts to add this atmospheric dark fantasy masterpiece to their permanent shelves.
Hunt the Night is a retro-style action-RPG, originally released on Steam, that blends fast, skillful combat with deep dark fantasy lore. Players step into the shoes of Vesper, a member of the elite “Stalkers” and the daughter of a traitor, as she traverses the ruined, dying world of Medhram. In a race against destiny, she must hunt the ancient horrors of the Night to save the last embers of humanity from a vicious cycle of total annihilation. The game features an immersive, adapted soundtrack with contributions from legendary Secret of Mana composer Hiroki Kikuta.
Vesper’s abilities in Hunt the Night can be shaped to suit different playstyles and challenges, with deep customisation across weapons, upgrades, and stats such as critical damage, lifesteal, poison, and firepower. Exploration rewards those willing to brave Medhram’s ancient cathedrals, ruined libraries, lost kingdoms, and floating cities, while optional Hunts task players with tracking and defeating the Night’s most fearsome creatures for powerful rewards.
