Pixel Art Adventure Brave Escape Leaps Over To Consoles This Month

Independent developer Hit Start Studios has announced that its two-player co-op platformer Brave Escape will officially launch on PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S on July 24th, 2026. Brave Escape challenges two players to work together as Colin and Floyd, an unlikely duo navigating a gauntlet of fast-paced hazards across handcrafted levels. This latest update significantly expands the experience for both new and returning players.

We first reported on the retro-style title earlier this year when the Steam release received a big update. That news was accompanied by an explanation that a console release announcement would follow. “We’ve continued expanding and refining Brave Escape since the original PC launch, and we’re excited that console players will get the full experience right from the start,” said Steve Ciaramitaro, Game Designer at Hit Start Studios. “Cross-platform support was especially important for us because Brave Escape is all about playing together, regardless of platform.”

Key features in Brave Escape:

45 brand-new levels, with 70 bonus levels total across all 7 worlds

World restructuring across multiple regions, adding new challenges and reorganizing progression

New accessibility options, including character outlines and transparency during overlap

Visual overhaul, featuring a new title screen, improved lighting, and enhanced environmental effects

Gameplay and audio improvements, including balancing updates and a new multiplayer countdown cue

Performance options, with configurable FPS settings (60, 120, 240, uncapped)

Free limited-time skins as part of the Battle for the Habitats global event
