Now, we don’t often cover smartphone games here at RetroNews, but we did recently cover Metal Slug Rush, and let’s also not forget that the wonderful Spica Adventure started life as a smartphone game. Plus, Fish Them All!’s glorious pixel art graphics lured us in – just look at them!
The game is summarized as follows: “a short incremental fishing game you can finish in just a few hours.”
In the game, “players drop a hook from a boat, catch fish swimming through the sea, and reel them in. The game is controlled with just three buttons. Each fishing run takes about 30 to 60 seconds, and the money earned can be spent on upgrades in a skill tree. Players can increase movement speed, raise the number of fish that can be caught at once, enlarge the hook, and unlock automated helpers such as divers, drones, and UFOs. The goal of 10 million fish may look impossibly large at first, but every catch chips away at it. The game is built around the satisfying feeling of watching an enormous goal draw closer, bit by bit, until the very end.”
