Combat School has been announced as this week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives and Arcade Archives 2 lines of emulated coin-op titles for modern formats, following last week’s release of the racing game TX-1, on which we reported at the time.
This week’s release is an action game that was originally released into arcades by Konami back in 1987.
Hamster Corporation describes the gameplay of Combat School as follows: “join a prestigious military academy as a cadet and tackle brutal training like shooting and combat under a terrifying instructor. Only those who survive these trials to claim the glory of graduation can face the next battle as a hero. Well, can you make it to the end?!”
The Arcade Archives version of Combat School will be released tomorrow (August 6, 2026) on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, priced at $7.99 USD or local equivalent.
Meanwhile, the Arcade Archives 2 version of the game, which adds a new Time Attack mode, will be released on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $9.99 USD or local equivalent.
As usual, purchasers of the Arcade Archives version of the game on Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4 can upgrade to the Arcade Archives 2 version at a later date, on Nintendo Switch 2 or PlayStation 5 respectively for $2.99 USD or local equivalent.
