Retro Shmup Shockwave Triggers Blasting Out On PC And Consoles Next Month

Shockwave Triggers is a new retro-inspired shmup from developer Shinu Real Arts and publisher EastAsiaSoft. It’s due for release on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, and XBOX on PC on October 14th, 2026, with physical editions for PlayStation also available for pre-order.

Shockwave Triggers is a vertical scrolling shoot’em up where players’ll choose between 2 pilots: the fast and versatile Amira, whose crystal-sensitive sister has been kidnapped, and the slower but more powerful Turbo B, a mechanic determined to take down the supreme leader of the WW army.

During the game, players can enjoy anime-style cutscenes and a pumping soundtrack as they blast through 6 unique stages of bullet hell mayhem. Collect crystals from destroyed enemies, initiate shockwaves to cancel incoming projectiles into gems, deploy super attacks, and upgrade their ship with character-specific armaments!

Players can use the shop system to earn new features or buy extra credits, choose from multiple difficulties to suit their playstyle, fill their gallery with unlockable art, and use the jukebox feature to enjoy the game’s original soundtrack. They can also team up for local co-op play, dare to challenge Boss Rush mode, and test their skills against online leaderboards!
