Xevious 3D/G has been announced as this week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives 2 line of emulated coin-op titles for modern formats, following last week’s release of Mr. Do’s Castle, on which we reported previously.
Notably, Xevious 3D/G will not be getting a release in the original Arcade Archives line for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, though the original 1984 game Super Xevious did receive an Arcade Archives release back in May last year, as we reported at the time.
Xevious 3D/G is a reimagining of Xevious that uses 3D polygons rather than 2D sprites, as well as adding some new weapons and some new enemies to the game.
Xevious 3D/G was the eighth Xevious game to be released, and it was originally released into arcades by Namco 30 years ago, back in 1996, before receiving a PlayStation port the following year.
Hamster Corporation describes Xevious 3D/G as follows: “The classic masterpiece “XEVIOUS” is reborn in polygons! Everything is rendered in 3D with diverse screen angles and camera work; plus new weapons and enemy characters have been added.
Conquer all 7 areas, including the desert with the geoglyph and the space fortress!”
The Arcade Archives 2 version of Xevious 3D/G will release on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and XBOX Series X|S from tomorrow (September 24, 2026), priced at $16.99 USD or local equivalent.
