Disney Epic Mickey was originally released on the Wii back in 2010, before getting a new coat of paint in a remaster titled Rebrushed in 2024 for modern consoles. Now, Disney Epic Mickey has been ported to Switch 2 and priced at $39.99. Publisher THQ Nordic, along with developers Purple Lamp and Disney Games, says that the game “shines brighter than ever with higher resolution visuals, improved framerate, mouse-style controls using the Joy-Con 2 controller”. The new release also includes a new costume pack DLC for Mickey.
Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed brings the classic 2010 game back and, for the first time, is available on modern consoles with enhanced visuals and graphics. New gameplay features include dash, ground pound, and sprint, allowing fans of the original and newcomers alike more ways to navigate and combat enemies. Along with the magic paintbrush, players can explore the unpredictable world of Wasteland, with levels inspired by classic Disney stories, and meet familiar faces along the way.
Mickey Mouse’s adventure with magic ink has gone awry, and he soon finds himself pulled into the dangerous world of Wasteland, a realm where forgotten Disney characters reside. In Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, players will step into Mickey Mouse’s shoes and take control of his magical brush to restore the world around him or use paint and thinner to reshape the environment and uncover hidden secrets.
