Classic point-and-click Series Space Quest Is Launching A New Mission

Space Quest was first released in 1986 and followed the comic journey of space janitor Roger Wilco, who would always find himself in the middle of adventures he didn’t want to be on. The Sierra On-Line developed titles that ran for six games, with the final one coming in 1995. They’re still loved to this day, and fans of the series will be glad to know that a new game is currently in development.

Marcus Mera, founder of MMMera, Inc. and Guillotine Games, has secured the trademark in relation to using Space Quest as the name for video games. “With SPACE QUEST now federally registered to MMMera, Inc. for video game software, we’re excited to move forward with an original project under the SPACE QUEST name,” said Marcus Mera. “I have tremendous respect for the history behind the name and the people who made the original games so memorable. Our goal is to create something new that captures that sense of humor, adventure, and discovery while establishing its own identity.”

The new game will be developed by Guillotine Games and published by MMMera Inc., and so far we only have a teaser trailer and some concept art to gauge what we can expect. It has already been confirmed that this new game will have its own characters and stories. The teaser trailer features the voice of Josh Mandel, who was at Sierra On-Line in various roles and is closely associated with the series.
