Crash Bandicoot: Iconic PS1 Exclusive Now Revived on Sega Saturn

Homebrew programmer Frogball has managed to move the PlayStation-exclusive game Crash Bandicoot over to the Sega Saturn. It now runs in the Saturn‘s similar high-res mode of 352×240. To mimic the special effects seen on the PlayStation, Frogball used smart techniques like turning multiple sprites into the famous waterfall in Ripper Roo’s stage. Frogball is thrilled about this work, with progress in game physics and adding a level editor, suggesting that new and unique levels could be created just for the Saturn. Frogball hopes that more interest in this project could lead to new ideas and improvements for the game.

I’m Yousiff Taqi, born in ’87, and I’ve been a huge fan of retro games for as long as I can remember. My favorites are RPGs, Platformers, and Action Adventure. I’ve been interested in computers ever since I was young, which is why I pursued a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. Now, armed with my passion for both retro gaming and computer engineering, I’m excited to embark on new adventures in the world of technology, where I hope to merge my interests and make meaningful contributions. https://www.instagram.com/Aeon https://twitter.com/FencerDarkwind
