Our Story

Welcome to our journey! We’re a duo of lifelong friends, myself and Yousiff, bonded by our love for video games since the magical year of 1993. For us, video gaming is more than a hobby; it’s a shared adventure that has endured for over 30 years. Through the pixelated glory of retro games to the stunning realism of the latest releases, our friendship has thrived within the ever-evolving gaming universe.

Today, our passion project comes to life through this website, www.retronews.com. Here, we’ve decided to take a heartfelt look back at the classics that shaped our earliest gaming experiences. While we appreciate the marvels of new video game releases, this space is dedicated exclusively to the retro games that continue to inspire and entertain us. Join us as we celebrate the nostalgia, the challenges, and the sheer joy that these vintage games bring to the gaming community.

I’m Mubarak AlSabah, born in ’87 and a huge fan of retro games. I’ve been into gaming since ’93, which pretty much makes it a lifelong thing for me. Collecting Retro games is my hobby, and I’ve got a pretty cool collection that takes you right back in time. Besides gaming, I hit the books and snagged a Bachelor’s in Business Management from the University of Colorado Boulder. Mixing my love for games with a bit of business savvy, that’s me in a nutshell.

I’m Yousiff Taqi, born in ’87, and I’ve been a huge fan of retro games for as long as I can remember. My favorites are RPGs, Platformers, and Action Adventure. I’ve been interested in computers ever since I was young, which is why I pursued a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. Now, armed with my passion for both retro gaming and computer engineering, I’m excited to embark on new adventures in the world of technology, where I hope to merge my interests and make meaningful contributions.
