Arcade Archives, Hamster Corporation’s line of emulated arcade titles, is a big favorite with us here at Retro News, as you may have gathered if you’re a regular reader. We’ve recently reported on several recent releases in the Arcade Archives line, including titles as diverse as shooting game Dead Connection, board game Othello, and cutesy puzzler Kitten Kaboodle.
Today, March 3rd 2025, marks the 8th anniversary of the Arcade Archives series on Nintendo Switch, which began oon March 3rd 2017, following its earlier launch on PlayStation 4 on May 15th, 2014. The Switch releases in the Arcade Archives line initially focused on Neo Geo titles, before expanding to cover a wider range of arcade publishers, including some Nintendo arcade titles that wouldn’t have been possible to offer on other formats.
Hamster Corporation have released a total of 455 Arcade Archives titles on Nintendo Switch over the last eight years. Hamster Corporation’s impressive feat was even recognized by Guinness World Records when it hit 418 consecutive titles!
And with last week’s announcement of “Arcade Archives 2” titles coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 4, the Arcade Archives series looks set to continue to go from strength to strength, showing no signs of slowing down.
