Blue Ridge Hunting is a new PS1-inspired horror title from publisher Six One Publishing and developer Jade Meadows. It’s set to release on Steam at the end of 2026, but a new Kickstarter has launched to fund the rest of the development. Should the crowdfunding campaign be successful, it will pay for a bigger, story-driven mode as well as other features that the team may not be able to implement on their own, such as online co-op.
In a press statement, the publisher said. “Blue Ridge Hunting has relaunched its Kickstarter campaign, alongside a brand new Steam demo that drops players into a co-op horror experience set in the Appalachian wilderness. Players investigate and track cryptids inspired by real-world folklore and sightings, using voice and radio communication that creatures can actually react to. Every expedition is unpredictable, and every sound matters.”
Key features in Blue Ridge Hunting:
Found Footage: A gritty retro/PSX art style inspired by early 3D horror and analog media
Always Listening: Creatures react to proximity voice chat and radio chatter—communication is crucial, but dangerous
Into the Woods, Solo or Together: Explore Appalachia alone or with up to 5 players in online co-op freeplay
Bump In The Night: A narrative-driven story (1–3 players) following the Appalachian Investigation Group’s hunt for the truth
Experience The Legends: Encounter unique, intelligent creatures based on real Appalachian folklore and sightings
Dark-Bluegrass Symphony: An original score blending haunting melodies with Appalachian roots
