Broken Sword Ventures onto Evercade Next Month

The first two Broken Sword games will be released on a single Evercade cartridge next month.

Blaze Entertainment tend to release Evercade cartridges in pairs, and we previously reported that the Indie Heroes 4 cartridge was set for release in February, well now we also know that its release partner will be a “Giga Cart” (which are cartridges offering greater storage than standard Evercade cartridges to allow for CD-based games) compiling “32-bit console” (i.e. PlayStation, but they can’t advertise that for legal reasons) versions of the first two Broken Sword games, Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars and Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror. As you probably already know, the Broken Sword games are amongst the most beloved and successful point and click adventure games of all time.
The first game in the series, Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars was first released by Revolution Software back in 1996, with the sequel Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror following a year later, and from February you’ll be able to play the first two Broken Sword adventures on Evercade hardware.

The Broken Sword series was created by Charles Cecil, who had previously created the adventure game Beneath a Steel Sky.
