Retro-inspired Shooter Bullet Noir Loads Up For Full Release

Back in March, we reported on Bullet Noir, a new retro-inspired top-down shooter from developer Wolcen Studio. The classic-style title is getting ready for its full release on Steam on September 10th, 2025. Bullet Noir is currently available to play via early access, priced at $11.99, for those who don’t wish to wait for the official release. The game has been receiving positive responses from those who have already played and seems to be inspired by other top-down shooters such as Loaded and Hotline Miami

To celebrate the release, the developer has released its fourth dev vlog that dives into some more details about the gameplay and what gamers can expect from its gritty story and aesthetics. The version 1.0 release introduces a brand-new chapter, which completes the intertwined stories with a total of 35 levels and newly added cinematics.

Beyond the campaign, the full release expands the game’s arcade offerings, introducing an enhanced arcade mode and speedrun options for all four characters. Players can also look forward to a suite of technical upgrades, including full controller support, overhauled graphics and cinematics, a refined UI, and localisations in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish, with fully customizable controls.

“We’re proud to have Bullet Noir serve as the very first title in our Indie Initiative,” said Bogdan Oprescu, President of Wolcen Studio. “This marks a new chapter for us, and we’re excited to continue championing independent creativity through this program!”
