Chip Sweeper is a new retro-inspired block puzzle title from solo developer Blank Cartridge Games, which is due to launch on Steam in 2027. In Chip Sweeper, Grandma has been visiting shady websites again. She answered another scam call too. Now her computer is full of bugs, and she needs the player, her very smart grandchild, to clear them out. A demo will launch in November.
The game follows Grandma through 10 story scenarios, each with its own theme and gimmick. Pop-ups cover the board. Bugs change colors. Every cleared scenario unlocks a new visual theme and music track. Chip Sweeper also has modes for up to four players with CPU opponents taking up any empty slots.
Speaking about Chip Sweeper, the developer said. “I grew up playing a game like this with my family. We’d play against each other and run tournament brackets. Those are some of my favorite gaming memories from when I was a kid. I still think about playing with my own grandma. I wanted to bring those nights back with my friends, but I couldn’t find the game I wanted on Steam. So I’m building it. And yes, Grandma made it into the game.”
