Top-down Shooter Codename: Black Crow Blasting Out Now On Consoles

Codename: Black Crow is a new pixel art top-down shooter from developer Seep and retro publisher Ratalaika Games. It’s out now on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4, priced at $9.99. Players will start with a knife and a handful of rations in a hostile land swarming with enemies. They’ll use their radar to explore over 100 areas, gather resources, clear outposts, find new gear, and craft upgrades at workbenches.

Set years after the events of Biomech Hell, Codename: Black Crow follows Aurora, a young soldier trained by the war legends Rock and Stan, better known as Thunderflash. Aurora never had a choice. Raised on the battlefield as a child soldier, now the past is back. Codename: Black Crow combines the relentless pace of top-down arcade shooters with RPG progression and a personal, emotional story.

Once a child soldier in a remote area of Mexico, Aurora carries a painful past, revealed through focused, impactful dialogue and illustrated, high-res anime-style scenes that enrich the game’s retro atmosphere. Players can level up, unlock new blueprints, and face off against brutal bosses and challenges. As a bonus, Thunderflas 2 is unlocked once the main campaign in Codename: Black Crow is finished.
