Nintendo and Lego have announced that a Donkey Kong Lego set is coming.”
A video posted on the Nintendo Today app and on the Lego Instagram account shows a rolling Lego barrel, along with the message that Lego Donkey Kong will be “rolling soon”.
At this time, neither Lego nor Nintendo has announced any further details on what the Donkey Kong Lego set will comprise, or when it will be released., though a comment made by Lego on its Instagram account does promise that “There’s plenty more where this came from!”
Lego sets inspired by retro gaming seem to have proved popular over recent years. Such sets that wer have reported on previously have included the recently announced the Lego Sega Genesis, the Lego Game Boy, Pokemon Lego sets, and a generic Lego arcade machine set, and of course, there have also been a number of Super Mario Lego sets, and even Animal Crossing Lego in recent years.
Lego/video game collaborations also often work the other way, as in addition to video-game based Lego sets, we often see Lego0based video games, such as Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, which is set to be released tomorrow.
