Dragon’s Lair: The Legend getting rereleased

The 1991 Game Boy classic Dragon’s Lair: The Legend is getting a rerelease, thanks to retro publisher Incube8. The new version of this handheld adventure is based on the European version of the game, which had some enhancements, including refined jumping mechanics, extra lives, and the removal of damage from falling. In a press statement, Incube8 said. “We are thrilled to announce that we are rereleasing Dragon’s Lair: The Legend for the Game Boy! Now, a new generation of players, and those who dared to take it on in the past, will have the chance to relive the adventure.”

Originally launched in 1991 by Elite Systems Ltd, this challenging platformer has gained a reputation not just for its connection to the iconic Dragon’s Lair franchise but for its notoriously difficult gameplay. Speaking on the gameplay refinements, Incube8 said. “While these changes make the game a little less punishing, rest assured, the legend of its difficulty remains very much intact.”

Pre-orders are now open with an expected shipping date of mid-April. Both a Standard Edition and a Digital Edition are available with a digital release already available to buy.
