Foldy’s OS Quest is a new retro-inspired 3D platformer from developer Vacation Home due for release on Steam in early 2026. There is a brand new demo out today that can be accessed via the game’s Steam page. The game is set in a colorful, computerized world filled with action-packed 3D platforming adventure. Players will run, jump, zip, surf, and stomp their way through the magical world of personal computing, and take down the virus before it can break through the firewall.
Foldy is a carefree anti-virus file folder, living blissfully on the Digital Desktop. But when a massive virus invades his peaceful operating system, spreading its influence to all corners of his world, Foldy must spring into action with the help of his newfound companion, Mouse. Alongside the more casual adventure mode, a time trial mode will be included to challenge more experienced players across seven worlds.
“Foldy’s OS Quest was inspired by my own enduring love for both the operating systems and 3D platformers of the late 90s and early 2000s.” Shared solo developer Chris Trenary. “As someone who grew up with a PS1 plugged into the living room TV and a boxy family computer, I had to wait my turn to surf the web. I have a great affinity for that era of technology and entertainment, and I hoped to recapture some of the magic of that time within this game.”
