Ghost Haunting is a new point & click adventure game that’s heavily inspired by the classics of the genre, boasting hand-drawn 2D visuals in the style of the SCUMM-driven Lucasfilm classics that fans of the genre all love, as well as what the game’s developers describe as “subtle spookiness and dark humor—true to the spirit of genre-defining point-and-click classics.”
The developers, Three Headed Monkey Studios are self-described “true 90s kids,” and Ghost Haunting will be their first game.
Three Headed Monkey Studios further describe Ghost Haunting as “a nostalgic yet modern take on the traditional adventure formula: An all-new 2D point & click adventure with a big nostalgic heart, modern comforts,” which sounds perfect for any retro gamer who enjoys the point & click genre. In the game, players join the eight-year-old protagonist Gigi on her “journey into the afterlife, armed with nothing but her curiosity, questionable logic, and a talking pumpkin-demon named Baron Butt(er)nut.”
Ghost Haunting’s features are set to include “classic point & click gameplay with a modern twist, a built-in hint system, hotspot highlighting, and fast travel, a “not-getting-stuck” guarantee, wholesome chaos meeting heartfelt storytelling, zero jump scares. Probably., and a brand-new IP with serious sequel energy.”
