Classic soccer title Goal! has headed to GOG and Steam and aims to bring back the glory days of 8-bit and 16-bit kickabouts. The two-game pack includes the 1989 Goal! and the 1992 sequel Super Goal! released on the NES and SNES, respectively. Both games were developed by Jaleco Sports, which said. “Before FIFA became the standard in soccer gaming, Goal! was celebrated as one of the most advanced and realistic soccer experiences of its time.”
The pack costs $12.99, but there is currently a 20% discount to mark the release. The NES version features 16 international teams competing for the World Cup and 8 U.S. teams in a tournament format. It also includes a Shootout mode, where players attempt to score against defenders and a goalkeeper. The SNES version expands on the original with a side-scrolling field, 24 international teams, instant replays, and full-field radar views. It also includes strategic options and more player control.
