We’ve been following the release of I Hate This Place, a new retro-inspired horror title. It had been due to be released on Steam, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox in November 2025, but the release date has been pushed back to January 2026, following feedback received by developer Broken Mirror Games. There is, however, a new trailer for eager fright fans to check out that reveals some more of the story and gives a “taste of the twisted tale taking place on Rutherford Ranch”.
“We had a lot of good feedback gathered from events like PAX, Gamescom, Tokyo Gameshow, and then from our recent public demo on Steam.” Janusz Tarczykowski, Game Director of publisher Rock Square Thunder, said when commenting on the new release date for I Hate This Place. “The vision for the game stays the same, but this feedback highlighted a few tweaks or features that would really help the game feel just that much better. As we got closer and closer to release, we had to keep moving many of these additions to post-launch support.”
He continued this thought by saying. “We feel the game deserves to make a good first impression, so we rethought things and, together with Broken Mirror Games, decided to move the date to January 2026. We know it’s last-minute, but we hope fans will understand. We’re doing a multipatform launch, so if we want to get these changes in and tested on all versions, we’d need a few more weeks.”
