We had a blast playing Judy’s Adventure DX, a GBC platformer from developer Phoenix Adverdale and publisher Rawrlab Games, when we previewed it on Steam a few months ago. Since then, the pixel art platformer has been ported to Switch and will be released on June 11th, 2026, priced at $5.99.
The story begins when Judy falls asleep beneath a tree during a delightful picnic, only for a mysterious hand to steal her house key. She has to go on an adventure to retrieve her key and get home. Judy’s fuzzy feet make traction a little tough on smooth platforms. Players will make their way through a colorful forest, a golden city, metallic sewers, and other environments.
We felt that the game was a fine modern GBC platformer. It has challenging areas, and although it’s not a particularly long game, it’s fun to replay and hunt down all the extra secrets. Fans of retro platformers, especially of the scaled-down handheld variety, will enjoy Judy’s Adventure DX.
