Karate Blazers has been announced as the next title to be released in Hamster Corporation’s line of weekly emulated Arcade Archives titles. This week’s game is a side-scrolling beat ’em up that was originally released into arcades by Video System back in 1991.
Hamster Corporation says of Karate Blazers that in the game players get to: “choose one of 4 martial arts masters, each with his own distinct killing blow. Or play together locally with up to 4 players.”
Your aim in Karate Blazers is to “fight to retrieve a secret scroll that has been stolen and to rescue your master’s kidnapped daughter.”
The game offers a number of different language options, which are: Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
Karate Blazers received an arcade release in both Japan and the USA, but does not seem to have received any home releases until this Arcade Archives version, some 34 years after it hit arcades.
The Arcade Archives version of Karate Blazers will be released on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 tomorrow (November 27, 2025), priced at $7.99 USD (or local equivalent). Unlink most recent Arcade Archives releases, such as last week’s release of Bomb Bee, on which we previously reported, Karate Blazers does not appear to be receiving a corresponding Arcade Archives 2 release for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S.
