Mega Man-inspired Lucid set to Blast onto Steam

Lucid

Lucid is a forthcoming 2D side-scrolling platform game that has been heavily inspired by Capcom’s classic Mega Man series.

The retro-inspired Lucid promises “a diverse cast of enemies and bosses, all in gorgeous pixel art inspired by the golden age of 2D sidescrollers.” Lucid’s genres are listed on its Steam page as “action, adventure, and RPG.” All that makes Lucid sound exactly like the sort of game we like to play here at Retro News!

Lucid is being developed by The Matte Black Studio, otherwise known as a solo developer by the name of Eric. And he describes Lucid as, “a love letter” to all his favorite games growing up, with the influence of Mega Man seeming particularly prevalent.

The Matte Black Studio will be launching a Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of Lucid. You can currently sign up to be notified of the Lucid Kickstarter’s launch, if you’d like to help The Matte Black Studio’s Lucid dreams come true.

Lucid will be published on Steam by the Steam indie publisher Apogee Entertainment, and while a release date has not yet been announced, you can already wishlist the game and download a demo of the game on Steam right now.
