We previously reported on the announcement of the Marvel Maximum Collection, a 12-game (6 titles from multiple formats) compilation of classic Marvel console and arcade games. At the time, a release date for the collection had not been announced. But now we know when we’ll get the chance to get our mitts on the marvelous Marvel Maximum Collection, and for the digital editions, at least, it’s quite a bit sooner than you might have expected!
The collection’s publisher, Limited Run Games, has announced on X that the Marvel Maximum Collection will be released digitally on March 27, 2026, a mere two weeks from now. Pre-orders for the physical editions of the collection will also open on the Limited Run Games site in this date, running until May 24. 2026.
The games included on the Marvel Maximum Collection are:
1. X-Men: The Arcade Game (1992, arcade)
2. Captain America and The Avengers (1991, arcade, Genesis/Mega Drive, NES)
3. Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage (1994, SNES, Genesis/Mega Drive)
4. Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety (1995, SNES, Genesis/Mega Drive)
5. Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge (1992, SNES, Genesis/Mega Drive, Game Boy, Game Gear)
6. Silver Surfer (1990, NES)
The physical edition of the Marvel Maximum Collection will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, and it will come with a foil cover, sticker sheet and booklet.
