Master of Monsters: Disciples of Gaia has been announced as this week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s Console Archives line of emulated titles from classic consoles for modern formats, following on from last week’s release of the NES shmup MagMax, on which we reported previously.
Unlike this week’s Arcade Archives release of Mr. Do!, on which we reported earlier today, this week’s Console Archives title isn’t exactly a household name. Master of Monsters: Disciples of Gaia was originally released on PlayStation by Toshiba-EMI in 1997. Earlier games fin the Master of Monsters series had previously been released on a number of formats, including MSX, Genesis/Mega Drive, and PC Engine CD.
Hamster Corporation describes Master of Monsters: Disciples of Gaia as: “a simulation war game where Iros, a boy granted power from the heavens, embarks on a journey with the goal of defeating Gaia.
With the help of Master, who can freely control monster armies, summon monsters from another world, defeat your enemies, and raise your own monsters.”
The Console Archives version of Master of Monsters: Disciples of Gaia will be released tomorrow (May 14, 2026) on PlayStation 5, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version set to follow a day later, on May 15, 2026. Each version will be priced at $11.99 USD or the local equivalent.
