Puzzle Platformer MonoWave Leaping Out On Steam And Console This Year

MonoWave is a new puzzle platformer from developer Studio BBB and publisher Phoenixx Inc. set for release on Steam and Nintendo Switch on September 16th, 2026. There will be PlayStation and Xbox releases later in 2026, with an announcement expected soon. To mark the announcement, the studio has also unveiled a new trailer offering a closer look at the game’s world, in which emotions become abilities, spreading through song to change nearby spirits and open new paths.

In MonoWave, players will embark on an exploratory adventure shaped by emotion, atmosphere and discovery. They’ll play as Mono, a newborn Guardian tasked with restoring balance to a broken world by reuniting the four Emotions: Anger, Anxiety, Happiness and Sorrow. As the guardian spirit of the Emotions, Mono can use emotional powers to interact with the eccentric inhabitants of each world, soothe four rampaging Emotions, and help them regain their balance before the world unravels any further.

Key features:

Four Unique Emotions & Powers: Happiness (jump to new heights), Sorrow (melt through gaps), Anger (wall-jump), Anxiety (sense danger).

Heartfelt Storytelling: Explore a touching narrative about the complexity and humanity of emotions.

Emotion-Sharing Song: Sing to share Mono’s current Emotion with nearby spirits, changing their behavior and opening new paths.

Four Unique Worlds: Traverse realms warped by each Emotion, from foggy jungles to blazing caverns.

Whimsical Art Style & Original Soundtrack: A scratch-art-inspired aesthetic and exclusive score bring MONOWAVE’s emotional universe to life.
