The classic Nintendo 64 title Paper Mario has been ported to PC by the prolific Harbour Masters, on whose PC port of the Nintendo 64 classic Banjo Kazooie, Light House, we have reported previously.
We also recently reported that Harbour Masters had dropped the “64” suffix from their former name of “Harbour Masters 64,” as they would also be working on GameCube ports, but this new PC port of Paper Mario shows tht Harbour Masters haven’t quite finished with the Nintendo 64 just yet!
We’re sure it goes without saying, but Harbour Masters’ PC port of Paper Mario is very much an unofficial fan port of the game.
Titled ‘PaperBoat,’ the PC fan port of Paper Mario was published last week, on September 17, 2026, and it is available to download now via GitHub (at least it is until Nintendo’s lawyers catch wind of it!). Please note that PaperBoat requires an original N64 ROM of Paper Mario in order to run.
Paper Mario was originally released on the Nintendo 64 over a quarter of a century ago, back in the year 2000, beginning life as a sequel to the 1996 SNES title Super Mario RPG, but going on to become a standalone title that would launch a respected series all of its own, with the most recent Paper Mario game to be released being a remake of 2004’s GameCube title, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for Nintendo Switch, which was released in 2024.
