Pixel art shooter Blazing Trail blasting to consoles this month

Blazing Trail is a new isometric pixel art shooter from publisher EastAsiaSoft and developer Gamenergy Studio, releasing to PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch on the 30th April 2025. It’s priced at $12.99 and becomes part of a busy schedule of releases for the retro publisher. It’s a retro-inspired scrolling title that requires daring on-the-fly strategy.

In Blazing Trail, players will use machine guns, missiles and laser power-ups to take down enemy soldiers, demolish buildings and watchtowers, destroy gates, and shoot down aircraft. They will also face off against huge bosses across seven sprawling combat zones. Players will also be able to roll through checkpoints and save progress between stages, as well as complete missions solo or team up with a friend for cooperative play.

We’re always glad to see new retro games being announced, especially when it’s from great retro-focused publishers such as EastAsiaSoft. We also love reviewing these titles, so we can confirm we’ll be reviewing Blazing Trail and will have our thoughts up on release day.
