We’ve been following the release of Platypus Reclayed closely, and gave it a glowing review back in September. Since then, developer Claymatic Games has added a Halloween-themed update and has now announced the second major update for the winter season. The all-new level centers around the world of Mungola during its winter. In this level, players will travel across iceberg-laden seas and snow-covered wilderness to do battle with a new boss.
In a press statement, Claymatic Games said. “Claymatic Games today announced the release of Winter Mission, the second free DLC expansion for Platypus Reclayed, the definitive reimagining of the cult-classic clay-animated shoot ’em up. The Expansion Pack, which bundles both available DLCs, is available today on PlayStation, with Nintendo Switch and Xbox versions to follow.”
“We wanted to celebrate the season with some festive, wintry gameplay, so this free expansion will ring in the new year with some holiday spirit,” said Anthony Flack, Lead Game Designer at Claymatic Games. “Think of it like a video game holiday special, ala Rudolph, only with more explosions!”
In celebration of the new update, Platypus Reclayed currently has a 25% discount on Steam and Humble Store until January 5th, 2026, and until January 11th, 2026 on Switch. There is also a 25% discount for Game Pass subscribers between December 23rd and December 29th, 2025, on Xbox.
