Quest of Dungeons is a 16-bit-inspired roguelike title originally released on Steam in 2014before rolling out on consoles later. Now, publisher Flyhigh Works, alongside developer Upfall Studios, has announced the pixel art dungeon crawler is now available on Switch 2, priced at $.8.99. Quest of Dungeons features an automatic dungeon generation system in a simple, classic roguelike game.
The publisher has described Quest of Dungeons as “a turn-based dungeon crawler game: a roguelike featuring a good old 16-bit, retro artistic look”. The story centers on an evil Dark Lord who has stolen all the light, so the player’s mission is to enter his lair and defeat him. By playing as either a Warrior, a Wizard, an Assassin, or a Shaman, players have to traverse dungeons, defeat enemies, and loot everything they can in order to survive. They can learn new skills in Tomes they find along the way and buy/sell items at shops.
The entire game is procedural, so players won’t find items/enemies in the same place each time they play. The Nintendo Switch 2 version supports mouse controls. In addition, we’ve added a new Mansion Abyss mode. This is a new challenge mode for players who have survived the other adventure. Players put their hard-earned skills and luck to the test and see if they can survive to the end.
