Roc’n’Rope is this week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives and Arcade Archives 2 lines of emulated arcade titles for home formats.
The release of Roc’n’Rope follows last week’s release of Bermuda Triangle, on which we previously reported.
This week’s title, Roc’n’Rope, is an a platform game that was originally released into arcades by Konami over 40 years ago, way back in 1983, receiving home ports to the Atari 2600 and ColecoVision a year later, and now, thanks to Hamster Corporation and their Arcade Archives, Roc’n’Rope is making its return to home formats for the first time in over 40 years!
Hamster Corporation describes the gameplay of Roc’n’Rope as follows: “In pursuit of the lucky bird, the Roc, you must climb higher and higher through various locations, including cliffs and ice caves. Use the rope, which can be fired diagonally upwards, to create the optimal route for a safe ascent!”
The Arcade Archives version of Roc’n’Rope is released on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 today, priced at the usual price of $7.99 USD, with the Arcade Archives 2 version getting a release on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, priced at $9.99.
As usual, purchasers of the PlayStation 4 Arcade Archives version may upgrade to the Arcade Archives 2 version on PlayStation 5 for $2.99 USD, and purchasers of the Nintendo Switch Arcade Archives version may upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Arcade Archives 2 version for the same price.
