Yesterday, Rohga: Armor Force was released as this week’s title in Hamster Corporation’s Console Archives line of emulated retro console games, following last week’s release of Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom, on which we reported previously.
This week’s Console Archives title is a run ’n’ gun game that was originally released into Japanese arcades by Data East in 1991 under the title “Wolf Fang: Kuuga 2001,” before being released worldwide as Rohga: Armor Force in 1992. The game eventually received a home release on PlayStation in 1996, before receiving a Sega Saturn release in 1997. Obviously, being a Console Archives release, this is one of the console versions of the game. To avoid trademark infringement, Hamster Corporation is being coy about which console version it has used for the Console Archives release of Rohga: Armor Force, describing o tony as a “32-bit home console,” which could be either of the formats for which the game eas released, however, Hamster Corporation does state that it was originally released in 1996, suggesting that the Console Archives version of Rohga: Armor Force is the PlayStation version.
Hamster Corporation describes Rohga: Armor Force as follows: “in this shooting game, you can combine four types of body, arm, and leg to create your own custom machine and battle with it.”
The Console Archives version of Rohga: Armor Force was released yesterday (April 30, 2026) on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5, priced at $11.99 USD or local equivalent.
