Rumor: Resident Evil Remake Leak Uncovers Gameplay And Launch Platform Info

A YouTuber has shared potential details about a new remake of the first Resident Evil game, adding to the growing rumors of a Resident Evil remake. The original game, released in 1996, was a groundbreaking title that established Capcom in the survival-horror genre.

Following a previous remake for the Nintendo GameCube and an HD remaster in 2015, fans have been calling for a modern reimagining of the game. Recent rumors suggest that Capcom is working on a remake of Resident Evil 1, with supposed changes and additions leaked by a Resident Evil YouTuber. The remake, rumored to be titled Biohazard: RE1 in Japan, may include the return of the challenging Crimson Heads enemies, who are said to be even tougher to defeat as “bullet sponges.”

Additionally, the remake might feature a third-person over-the-shoulder camera and real-time environments rendered in the RE Engine, targeting current-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Although unconfirmed, these rumors offer a glimpse into how Capcom could blend classic elements with modern sensibilities in a Resident Evil 1 remake, possibly to be revealed around the series’ 30th anniversary in 2026.
