Zelda-inspired Pixel Art Adventure Spindle Update

Back in November 2024, we brought you the news of a new retro-inspired adventure titled Spindle. We now have a new trailer for the game and an announcement that the confirmed release date isn’t far away. Spindle is a new pixel art adventure title from developer Wobble Ghost and publisher Deck13 Spotlight. The game is due for release later this year on PC and Nintendo Switch, but has been in development since 2018.

Spindle is an old-school action-adventure that lets players dive into a beautifully handcrafted pixel world. They will explore shadowy dungeons, solve intricate puzzles, and use Death’s unique powers to outwit the creatures and obstacles in their path. The new trailer shows many of Spindle’s gameplay mechanics and gives players a glimpse of what can be expected. The game pays homage to the classic pixel art adventure titles of yesteryear, especially the Zelda series. From the trailer, we can see a mix of action, puzzles, and mini-games, as well as the beautiful pixel art.

In a press statement, the developer and publisher said. “Deck13 Spotlight and Wobble Ghost are proud to announce the release window for their upcoming action-adventure Spindle. While it still takes a few more days, the fresh trailer might entertain you like a phantom watching an hourglass. And while the journey of development is soon coming to an end, we can’t wait to see players finally getting their hands on the game to start their own journey and become the one and only death, accompanied by a little pig.”
