Steel Worker Builds its Way out of the Arcade Archives

Steel Worker has been announced as this week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives line of emulated arcade games for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, and also as this week’s release in the Arcade Archives 2 line of emulated arcade games for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Steel Worker is one of the oldest games released in the Arcade Archives lines to date, even older than last week’s entry, 1981’s Video Hustler, on which we previously reported.

Originally released by Taito way back in 1980, Steel Worker is a puzzle game in which the objective is to “objective is to connect a path to the destination by placing scaffolding for a workman performing high-altitude work on a construction site, ensuring he does not fall.”

Hamster Corporation say of the game: “to prevent the workman from having an accident, it is sometimes necessary to strategically place the scaffolding so that he takes a detour or reverses his path. Remember to value your workers! Stay safe out there!”

The Arcade Archives and Arcade Archives 2 versions of Steel Worker will be released tomorrow (September 18th,2025). The Arcade Archives version of Steel Worker will cost $9.99, and the Arcade Archives 2 version will cost $9.99.
