Super Fire Pro Wrestling Special English Fan Translation Now Available

The story mode of Super Fire Pro Wrestling Special, a 1994 Super Famicom game written, directed, and designed by Goichi “Suda51” Suda, has been translated into English for the first time. Known for its incredibly dark and depressing narrative, the game explores the grim side of sports entertainment, a stark contrast to the typical tone of wrestling games. This marks an early example of Suda51’s signature storytelling style, which would later define his more famous works like No More Heroes and Killer7.

The translation, completed by Boogal, focuses solely on the story mode, as it is considered the main draw of this version. Other gameplay modes have been removed, and there are no plans to include them in the patch. The translation is compatible only with the original version of the game and not any revised ROMs. This release allows a broader audience to experience one of the most emotionally impactful endings in video game history, showcasing Suda51’s unique ability to blend unconventional storytelling with deeply unsettling themes.

I'm Mubarak AlSabah, born in '87, and I'm a big fan of retro games. I’ve been gaming since '93, so it's been a lifelong passion for me. Collecting retro games is my favorite hobby, and I have a great collection that takes you back in time. In addition to gaming, I also have 830+ premium domain names, which is another hobby that I love just as much. I started collecting domains in '97, combining my interest in the digital world with my love for nostalgic gaming.
