We reported on the upcoming release of Tanuki Justice, a demake of the popular action title released for modern consoles and PC in 2021. The GBC demake was originally up for pre-order on publisher PixelHeart’s website but is now available on general sale. The game is limited to 500 numbered copies, each of which will come with a certificate of authenticity. At the time of writing this post, there were still over 280 units left to purchase, so budding GBC fans should get in quick to avoid disappointment.
The Tanuki Justice demake has been developed by Maxime Shutz, who also worked on another PixelHeart title, Lost Terminal. The game has been completely reworked from the original title to make sure it is fully compatible with the GBC.
Tanuki Justice is an intense action game in which you play as a ninja Tanuki on a quest for revenge. Fighting wave after wave of enemies in beautifully designed retro environments. Thanks to simple yet dynamic controls, you’ll be able to pull off some incredible moves in this homage to classic arcade games. The release will include a cart, plastic protector case, outer box, full color manual, and two stickers alongside the already mentioned certificate.
