We previously reported that Retro Games Ltd. would be previewing a mysterious new release at this year’s Gamescom, and we guessed that it might be their delayed full-sized Amiga 1200 replica, on which we previously reported, and indeed it is!
Retro Games Ltd.’s forthcoming replica of Commodore’s 32-bit Amiga 1200 home computer will be called THEA1200, following the same naming convention that Retro Games Ltd.’s previous full-sized Commodore home computer replicas, THEC64, and THEVic20 followed. THEA1200 will not be the first Amiga replica to be released by Retro Games Ltd., as they previously released a mini version of the 16-bit Amiga 500 home computer, named The A500 Mini.
THEA1200 will feature a full sized working keyboard, and full specifications for the machine are set to be announced in October, until then, it has been teased that THEA1200 will ship with the new Amiga version of The Settlers II, on which we previously reported, but a release date for the machine is yet to be confirmed.
This year’s Gamescom has certainly has a lot to offer us retro gamers, including a new retro-style He-Man game, and a new game from the legend Ron Gilbert, on both of which we have previously reported.
