Toujinmakyouden Hercules no eikou has been announced as this week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s line of emulated retro console titles for modern formats, following last week’s release of Master of Monsters: Disciples of Gaia, on which we reported previously.
Toujinmakyouden Hercules no eikou was originally released by Data East in Japan only on Famicom, back in 1987, and neither the original game nor any of its sequels were rver released outside of Japan, until 2009’s Nintendo DS entry in the series, which was released under the English title “Glory of Heracles”.
And now, thanks to Hamster Corporation, gamers wirlwide can enjoy the original Famicom game for the first time. However, because the game was never release outside of Japan, all in-game text is in Japanese, though the user interface and manual are available in English.
Hamster Corporation describes Toujinmakyouden Hercules no eikou as: “a RPG game where you embark on a journey with the goal of defeating the Demon King Hades and rescuing the goddess Venus who has been taken to the underworld. Overcome the various difficulties that await, defeat the monsters that stand in your way, and gallantly rescue Venus!”
The Console Archives version of Toujinmakyouden Hercules no eikou will be released tomorrow (May 21, 2026) on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5, priced at $7.99 USD or local equivalent.
