X-Out remaster heading to console and PC next month

Back in August last year, we brought you the news that retro shooter X-Out was getting a makeover and heading to consoles and PC. Since then, news has been trickling in but publisher ININ Games has now announced the classic shmup is now available for pre-order in both digital and physical formats. X-Out: Resurfaced can be pre-ordered digitally now for Steam, Switch and Xbox, with the PlayStation release following shortly after.

The physical release, which is only available for PlayStation and Switch, is also available to pre-order from ININ Games, with all versions of the game available from 20th February 2025. The deluxe physical edition includes the game contained in a collectors box alongside a CD soundtrack and artbook.

X-Out: Resurfaced is a new experience based on the 90s classic that was originally released for home computers in 1990. Now, 35 years later, the remaster includes a new training menu, helpful cheats for those new to the genre, a new two-player co-op mode, a mirror mode for some replay value, new graphics for the modern era and a remixed soundtrack from legendary composer Chris Hülsbeck. For those wanting an authentic 90s experience, the original soundtrack is also included.
