ZPF is a recent Sega Genesis shooter from retro publisher Mega Cat Studios. We’ve been following the game’s release and are excited to hear the announcement that ZPF is being ported to modern consoles next month. The original Genesis title will be released on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $9.99, on April 16th, 2026. This modern release includes a variety of updates and improvements for current platforms, including achievements and modern optimized display settings.
In a press statement, Mega Cat Studios said. “One of the most anticipated shooters of 2025, ZPF earned massive praise from critics and fans of the genre when it soared onto the Genesis and Mega Drive last year. Now, ZPF brings its surreal, high-intensity action to modern platforms, inviting even more players to dive into a fever dream of mind-melting visuals, endless layers of parallax, and relentless arcade gameplay.”
