ZZAP! Legacy Smashes Kickstarter Target Fast

ZZAP! Legacy

ZZAP! Legacy is a forthcoming book from Retro Fusion Books that will celebrate the first 48 issues of ZZAP! 64 magazine, which was dedicated to the ever-popular 8-bit Commodore 64 home computer.

ZZAP! Legacy will be an 108-page A4 hardback book in a slipcase, and amongst its features, the book will include reprints of legendary C64 developer Andrew Braybook’s diaries, which originally appeared in early issues of the magazine, as well as high-resolution, cleaned up scans of Oliver Frey’s magnificent cover art for the magazine.

Ian Osborne, who worked at Newsfield, the magazine’s publishers, has agreed to provide a write up of each issue of the magazine, and Gary Penn, who wrote for the magazine, will write the book’s foreword.

Rewards available on the ZZAP! Legacy Kickstarter include the book, signed or unsigned, and a number of optional extras such as a pin badge, a mug, and several Commodore-related prints.

ZZAP! Legacy follows in the footsteps of Fusion Retro Books’ previous Crash Legacy book, which celebrated Crash, ZZAP! 64’s sister publication, which was dedicated to the Commodore 64’s bitter rival, the ZX Spectrum.

Even though the Kickstarter campaign for ZZAP! Legacy only launched yesterday, it has already smashed its target goal of £10,000, with the amount raised standing at £18,046 from 375 backers at the time of writing, with 13 days still to run on the campaign.
