Pre-Orders Open for 2 New N64 Games

The N64 was (and indeed still is) a superb console, so it’s great to see the format supported by so many physical aftermarket homebrew releases, such as the forthcoming N64 Donut Dodo port on which we reported previously, and now, two more new N64 games are up for pre-order…

The first new N64 game available to pre-order is: Overserved: Food Fighters!, which is “a party/battle-arena game in the vein of games like Saturn Bomberman and similar titles.” Features promised in the game include: “eight playable, hyper-adorable critters, fighting across eight unique battle arenas, all with their unique traps and features; heaps of food-themed weapons, power-ups, and items; eight-player multiplayer (local and online) across N64, Neo Geo, Saturn, Dreamcast, Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, tvOS and Android; support for connecting additional controllers via Bluetooth (BLE-only, powered by special game cartridge) (To be confirmed); on-cartridge game save data (settings, trophies/unlockables, etc); over the air game updates.”
The second new N64 game up for pre-order is: Project Neon, which is a “new, vertical / TATE style Shoot ‘Em Up (shmup), originally developed for the original Neo Geo MVS / AES platform. It features a 1-2 player mode, with all the bells and whistles of a classic shoot ’em up that you would expect, spiced up with some modern and unique concepts and game mechanics,” which promises the following features: “rock solid 60fps action, parallax scrolling and beautiful animated sprites; five distinctive levels and screen-filling end boss fights; vibrant pixel-art graphics; a huge variety of enemies and weapons; tight controls with dedicated focus on minimal/zero lag; co-op mechanics; a strangely familiar antagonist; and YOKO mode switch to rotate intro, title screen, all texts, power-up sprites & controls).”

Both games are set to ship in November 2026, and Pre-orders for the physical editions of both of these new N64 games are open now, and both will be published by Fullset. The N64 cartridges for both games will include a Wi-Fi chip, to enable over the air updates for new content.
