When Blaze Entertainment’s licenses to produce Evercade cartridges expire, these cartridges then enter what Blaze refers to as “legacy” status. This means, that while existing stock can still be sold by stores, no further copies of them are able to be pressed, so once existing stock sells out, the cartridges will only be available to purchase on the secondary market (often at greatly inflated prices).
Thankfully, Blaze Entertainment has begun giving a decent amount of warning to Evercade collectors, informing them of when cartridges will enter “legacy” status, and giving them the chance to pick them up while they still can. Regular readers may recall that we previously reported on the four Evercade cartridges that enter “legacy” status this month, which were: Piko Interactive Collection 2, Indie Heroes Collection 1, Mega Cat Studios Collection 2, and The Sydney Hunter Collection.
And now, Blaze Entertainment has announced that the next batch of three cartridges to enter “legacy” status will be Intellivision Collection 1, Intellivision Collection 2, and Irem Arcade 1, which will all enter “legacy” status in March 2026, so if you’re yet to pick any of these three up, and you’d like them for your Evercade collection, we’d recommend picking them up as soon as possible!
