Horror Game Magazine Fearzine seeks funding

fearzine

We always love to see a glossy printed magazine here at Retro News, and Fearzine gives us the shivers. The publishers describe Fearzine as “an independently owned and operated physical and digital magazine focused on horror games, especially titles from indie studios and individuals.” The magazine is now onto its third issue, and just like the two that came before, it needs the help of the horror game community to get into the hands of eager readers.

As with all these projects, Fearzine seeks its crowdfunding via a Kickstarter campaign and as of the time we published this story, it’s tantalisingly close to securing all the funding it needs. The crowdfunding campaign is quite straightforward, with either a digital or printed copy available, as well as bundling these together in one package. There is also the option to include a copy of Conrad Stevenson’s Paranormal P.I. game.

The magazine is set to be sent out to backers this month and will include interviews, reviews, news and all the other regular features you’d expect from a magazine of this type. The publishers are keen to point out where the funds will be spent, with the focus being on making sure the writers and staff get paid a fair wage for their work. They also point out that they want to secure extra funding to make the publication sustainable going forward, with money for events and other publicity ventures, such as starting a YouTube channel.
