O, a new ZX Spectrum Next game by David Sonic Clarke, with graphics by Simon Butler, will be released by Fusion Retro Books on June 30th, with a free five level demo of the game available to download now.
O is a platform game in which you must guide the game’s protagonist, Retrobot, on a perilous journey against the clock after the titular baddie O has stolen ancient relics from the Fusion Retro vault!
O will be compatible with the ZX Spectrum Next, N-Go, X-Berry Pi, and MiST(er), with other systems to be confirmed. O will support play at 50 or 60hz, though 60hz is recommended.
O will be available in two formats. The standard version of O will include a printed manual, an SD card containing the game, and a digital manual, manual in PDF format – all supplied in a plastic DVD-style case, priced at £25.00.
Meanwhile, the deluxe version of O will include a printed box, an O A6 postcard signed by Simon Butler, Paul Hesso and David Sonic Clarke, an O badge and a CD album of the game music (composed by Paul Hesso), and he first 350 sales will also include an O enamel pin badge. The deluxe version costs £45.00.
There certainly seems to be a lot of ZX Spectrum Next activity on the go at the moment. Just yesterday, we reported that production of a third wave of the machines was planned, as well as reporting on a new ZX Spectrum fanzine that will be covering the ZX Spectrum Next as well as the original 8-bit ZX Spectrum.
You can download the five-level demo of O and pre-order O for ZX Spectrum Next now, via the O page on the Fusion Retro Books website.
